Based in the Catskill mountains of Upstate New York, Red Neckromancer mixes elements of Appalachian roots music with the spirit of underground punk and metal to create a sound they describe as hillbilly punk. Their debut album “Tickle the Pitchfork”, released in 2015, has been described as “somewhere between David Allen Coe and Slayer on a trip to NOFX’s heavy petting zoo.
Since then, they have toured the east coast several times, including spots on The Heavy Rebel Weekender and Rosendale Street festivals, as well as a 3 week tour of Alaska. They are set to release “In the Shadow of the Mountain” on August 18th, 2018. On their second full length release, songwriters Malachi McElroy (Banjo/Vocals) and Rev. Kev. (Guitar/Drums/Vocals) continue to develop and find new ways to combine their respective traditional and punk/metal influences. They plan to hit the road as much as possible in late 2018/2019 to support the new album.
